R. David Hipperson is an educator / tuba player from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
He has been an instructor with the Kiwanis Kavaliers since 2002. He has
instructed for many drum corps including Dutch Boy, Oakland Crusaders and
Tar Heel Sun. He is an Elementary Band teacher in the York Region School Board
in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as well as performing in the brass band, Intrada
Brass from Oakville, Ontario, Canada. He currently runs a successful band
program at Rosedale Heights Public School that has won numerous awards in
the Toronto area.
David studied with Jane Maness (Principal Tuba – K.W Symphony) at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Mark Tetreault (Principal Tuba – Toronto Symphony Orchestra) at the University of Toronto and studied Bass Trombone with Frank Harmantas at the University of Toronto. He has recorded many performances for the C.B.C that have been featured regularly on Radio One including Think Nice Thoughts by the 10 o’clock Jazz Band directed by Paul Reed from the University of Toronto. . David lives in North York, enjoying his fireplace and golfing when he can. David is delighted to be returning to the Kiwanis Kavaliers for another season.
